The Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (MNP) is responsible for assessment of environmental and sustainability policies in the Netherlands throughout all stages of the policy processes. It is an independent, government funded non-profit organization with currently around 200 staff.

We participate in some other relevant projects on a EU and global scale: EURURALIS, SCENAR2020 and Agricultural assessment (IAASTD)

Senior researcher on sustainability and rural areas. He was the project leader of the first Sustainability Outlook of the Netherlands. He participates in the integrative part of the EURURALIS project. In the FARO project he works on scenarios and impact assessment on a regional scale. From 2005-2006 he worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality in preparing a rural policy strategy for Europe, based on several scenario studies.

Researcher on integrated assessment model development and application of the IMAGE model. He is responsible for model and scenario management and integration of new modules into the IMAGE framework (e.g.. for climate, water, atmospheric chemistry, carbon cycle, agro-economy, land allocation; developed with partner institutes in the Netherlands and abroad). He conducts IMAGE applications in a variety of studies and analyses and plays a pivotal role in the linkage of IMAGE with economic and agro-economic models such as GTAP (LEI: EURURALIS) and IMPACT (IFPRI: Millennium Ecosystem Assessment; and Agricultural Assessment; IAASTD).
